Workstations
The Central Processing Unit
(CPU) of the computer controls all
other components of the system.
It holds the operating system of
the HP250, which is software associated with the computer and its
processing capabilities.
It also has at least 32K bytes of
memory available to you for programs and data; user memory,
capable of processing six tasks simultaneously, may be expanded
to 384K bytes by additional memory options.
The activity within
the CPU is invisible to you.

Your workstation, a combination of a keyboard and video display,
is your path to the CPU.
