Food probe

The food probe enables you to monitor
the temperature precisely during a
cooking programme.
How it works
The metal tip of the food probe must be
fully inserted into the centre of the food.
There is a temperature sensor in the
metal tip which measures the core
temperature of the food during cooking.
The core temperature set will depend
on how well cooked you want your
meat to be and on the type of meat.
The temperature can be set between
30 and 99 °C.
The cooking duration will depend on a
number of different factors: the higher
the temperature in the oven
compartment and the moisture, where
applicable, and the thinner the food, the
quicker the set core temperature will be
reached.
The core temperature values are sent
via a signal from the transmitter in the
handle of the food probe via the
antenna to the steam oven's electronic
unit as soon as the food with the food
probe is placed in the oven
compartment.
Accurate radio transmission is only
guaranteed if the oven door is closed. If
the door is opened during a cooking
programme, e.g. to baste the food,
radio signal transmission is interrupted.
It will only resume when the door is
closed. It will take a few seconds before
the current core temperature appears
again in the display.
Damage due to high
temperatures.
Temperatures higher than 100 °C will
damage the temperature sensor in
the food probe beyond repair.
The food probe should be reinserted
in its holder when it is not being
used.
