8.3.1 Withdrawable apparatus
Manual insertion from the Test/Disconnected
position to the Service position:
Connect control wiring plug (Fig.79)
Close the front door
Ensure that the apparatus is in OFF condition
(in case of VCB)
Fit hand crank on square spigot of spindle
mechanism inside the racking hole by turning
the knob provided on the door. (Fig.77)
Turn the crank clockwise (30 turns) until the
breaker or withdrawable truck reaches the
Service position and stops
Observe the position indicator on low voltage
compartment
Remove hand crank
Manual withdrawal from the service position into
the test/ disconnected position:
Ensure that the circuit breaker is in OFF
condition
Fit hand crank on square spigot of spindle
mechanism inside the racking hole by turning
the knob provided on the door.
Turn the crank anti-clockwise (30 turns) until
the breaker or withdrawable truck reaches the
test position and stops.
Observe the position indicator on low voltage
compartment
Remove hand crank
Note:
The withdrawable part shall not be stopped at any
intermediate position in the travel range between
Service and Test or Disconnected position!
IMPORTANT NOTE
If operations are prevented, do not force the
interlocks. Check whether the operating sequence
is correct.
The force normally applicable to the insertion/
withdrawing lever is 260 N. In any case, the
maximum applicable force shall never exceed
400N. Please also refer the installation and
operations manual of circuit breaker.
Insertion and withdrawable of circuit
breaker (and other withdrawable
parts) must be gentle and gradual; in
order to avoid shock or overpressure
which could deform the
mechanical interlock
CAUTION
The insertion and withdrawal must
always be carried out with the circuit
breaker in open condition!
Withdrawal from the Test/Disconnected position
to outside the switchgear:
Open the door of the circuit breaker
compartment
Release secondary wiring plug (Fig.79) and
hold it in the storage position on withdrawable
part.
In case of floor rolling circuit breaker, open
both ramps and keep them in open position,
so that the breaker can come out through the
ramp to the floor. For cassette type
switchgear, kindly use CB trolley.
Move sliding handles inwards against springs
to release withdrawable part. Draw the
withdrawable part out of the switchgear
onto the floor.
Secure the position of shutters with padlock
8.3.2 VD4 type circuit breaker
Charging the stored energy spring system:
On the circuit breaker with charging motors,
charging is carried out automatically. If the
charging motor fails; the charging procedure
can be carried out or completed manually in
test position
The circuit breakers supplied with spring
charging motor for automatic charging have
provision for manual charging
In circuit breakers with only manual charging
systems or in the event of failure of spring
charging motor, open the door with circuit
breaker in Disconnected position. Pull the
integrated charging handle and stroke it for
approximately 11 times until the charged
condition is indicated. (Refer Fig. 76).
When the charged condition is reached, the
charging mechanism is automatically
disengaged any further strokes of the lever
have no effect. See the Fig. 76. Pumping is
effective if the lever is stroked till the
angle of 90°
Opening and closing the circuit breaker:
Opening and closing operations with the
withdrawable part in the Service position
should be performed only with the door closed
Operate the local or remote electrical control
Observe the circuit breaker indication for
ON/OFF
