Using the 40-617A in an LXI Chassis

Low level Driver
When fitted in a Pickering LXI modular chassis, the LXI kernel driver may be used. Commands are very similar to
the pilpxi commands listed above, but with the addition of a parameter representing the communication session
open to the LXI device.
piplx
PIPLX_OpBit(session, card, sub-unit, bit, state);
Note, the VISA driver is not available for the LXI chassis.
IVI Driver
The IVI driver may also be used by modifying the resource string to address the LXI device.
In PXI the resource string looks something like: PXI1::14::INSTR
In LXI, the string becomes something like:
TCPIP::192.168.1.116::1.14::INSTR
The user must determine the IP address of the LXI unit, and the bus.slot address of the card within the LXI unit.
Tools are provided with the LXI software to determine these parameters.
For example:
The lower window contains the resource string required to address this particular card.
