Signal routing is performed by simply defining test system endpoints to be connected together, greatly accelerating Test System software development.

    INSTALLING THE LXI UNIT The 60-590 may be mounted on a desk top or fitted into a standard 19 inch rack (rack versions are supplied with mounting flanges fitted to either side of the front panel). When fitting into a rack it is important to provide adequate support using side brackets or runners, the mounting holes in the front panel flanges are designed only for securing the unit in the rack and must NOT be used to support the weight of the whole unit.

    PROGRAMMING THE 60-590 The 60-590-002 is a matrix which has a size of 40 connections on its X axis and 40 on its Y axis. The 60-590- 001 is a smaller version with 40 connections on its X axis and 20 on its Y axis. Isolation switches are included on the X Loop-Thru, Y-bus and Y Loop-Thru connections.

    External Loop-Back Connectors The 60-590 is fitted with the ability to perform self diagnosis of its switching matrix. This diagnostic tool requires the user to remove all front panel cabling from the unit and fit loop-back connectors to enable the routing of internally generated test signals.
