6. Dismantling and assembly

WARNING
Before starting any service work, remove the fuses or
switch off the power supply. Make sure that the power
supply cannot be accidentally switched on.
All rotating parts must have stopped moving.
WARNING
All regulations applying to mixers or flowmakers installed
in potentially explosive environments must be observed.
Make sure that no work is carried out in potentially
explosive environment.
Before starting any work on mixers or flowmakers used in liquids
which could constitute a hazard to health, thorough cleaning/venting
of mixer or flowmaker, tank, etc. must be carried out according to
local regulations.

6.1 Explosion-proof versions

Explosion-proof versions must be serviced and repaired by
Grundfos or by a service partner appointed by Grundfos.
Spare parts
Damaged parts should always be replaced by new approved parts.
Motor parts must not be reconditioned by machining, retapping,
welding, etc.

6.2 General information

Position numbers of parts (digits) refer to section
drawings.
Before dismantling
Switch off the power supply.
Disconnect the power supply cable in accordance with local
regulations.
Before assembly
Clean and check all parts.
Replace defective parts by new parts.
Order the necessary service kits.
Always replace gaskets and O-rings.
During assembly
Lubricate and tighten screws and nuts according to section
4. Tightening torques and
lubricants.

6.3 Dismantling

6.3.1 Propeller
1. Support the mixer in such a way that the propeller can rotate
freely.
2. Remove screw (pos. 1111) and hub cover (pos. 1109).
3. Remove nut (pos. 1117).
4. Remove lock washers (pos. 1118).
5. Gently tap on the back of the propeller with a plastic hammer to
remove it from the shaft.
6. Remove V-ring (pos.1070).
7. Remove INA ring (pos. 1071) if wear is visible.
6.3.2 Sealing system
1. Remove key (pos. 1105) from the shaft.
2. Remove screw (pos. 1147) from protection ring (pos. 1146).
3. Remove plugs (pos. 1145) from sealing flange (pos. 1141) and
drain the oil into a suitable container.
4. Remove protection sleeve.
5. Remove rotating shaft seal part (pos. 1098) from shaft (pos.
1093).
6. Remove screws (pos. 1144) and sealing flange (pos. 1141).
7. Remove retaining ring (pos. 1059) from motor housing (pos.
1017).
8. Remove retaining ring (pos. 1051) and shim (pos. 1050) from
the shaft.
9. Remove rotating shaft seal part (pos. 1048) from the shaft.
10. Remove retaining ring (pos. 1058) from motor flange (pos.
1020).
11. Remove O-ring (pos. 1142) from motor flange (pos. 1020).
6.3.3 Cable connection
1. Remove screws (pos. 1010) and cable clamp (pos. 1015) from
guide flange (pos. 1124).
2. Remove screws (pos. 1008), cable flange (pos. 1002) and cable
(pos. 1001).
7. Sectional
3. Remove small cable seal (pos. 1006), thrust washer (pos.
1005), large cable seal (pos. 1004), cable guide (pos. 1003) and
cable flange (pos. 1002) with O-ring (pos. 1007).
4. Remove screws (pos. 1126) from guide flange (pos. 1124).
5. Remove the guide flange from the motor housing and place it
next to the motor housing.
Caution
6. Write down the numbers on the wires to ensure correct
connection.
7. Disconnect the cable conductors from the motor windings
including screw (pos. 1028).
8. Remove O-ring (pos. 1125) from guide flange (pos. 1124).
9. Pull rotor (pos. 1019) 40-45 mm out of the motor housing and
make a mark on the motor flange and motor housing to position
it correctly during assembly.
10. Disconnect the wires of water-in-oil sensor (pos. 1049).
11. Remove the rotor from the motor housing.
12. Remove compensation disc (pos. 1038) from the N-end of the
motor housing.
13. Remove O-ring (pos. 1022) from motor flange (pos. 1020).
14. Remove bearing (pos. 1039) from rotor shaft (pos. 1019).
15. Press rotor (pos. 1019) out of the motor flange.
16. Remove stationary shaft seal part (pos. 1048) from the motor
flange.
17. Press bearing (pos. 1047) out of the motor flange.
18. Remove O-ring (pos. 1071) from intermediate ring (pos. 1057).
19. Remove water-in-oil sensor (pos. 1049).
6.3.4 Stator
1. Remove nut (pos. 1046) from motor housing (pos. 1017).
2. Remove screw (pos. 1044) from the motor housing.
3. Disconnect the stator wires from the motor housing and pull
stator (pos. 1018) out of the motor housing.
Take care not to damage any wires.
