4. Dismantling and assembly

4.1 General information

If it is necessary to dismantle the pump, either because it is choked or damaged, please follow the instructions in the following
sections.
Position numbers of parts refer to drawings.
Before dismantling the pump:
Disconnect the electricity supply to the motor.
Close the isolating valves, if fitted, to avoid draining the system.
Remove the electric cable in accordance with local regulations.
Note the centre of gravity of the pump to prevent it from overturning.
Before assembly:
Clean and check all parts.
Replace defective parts by new parts.
Order the necessary service kits.
Gaskets and O-rings should always be replaced when the pump is overhauled.
During assembly:
Lubricate and tighten screws and nuts to correct torque as stated in section 3. Torques and lubricants.

4.2 SR (0.75 to 3.0 hp)

4.2.1 Dismantling
1. Remove the screws fixing the motor to the foundation.
2. Remove the nuts (pos. 36).
3. Pull out the motor including pump head and impeller out of the pump housing (pos. 6).
4. Remove the O-ring (pos. 72a).

6. Pull off the rotating part of the shaft seal.
7. Remove the screws (pos.28) and pull off the pump head (pos. 2).
8. Press the rotating part of the shaft seal out of the pump head from behind.
4.2.2 Assembly
1. Fit the pump head to the motor.
2. Fit the screws (pos. 28) and tighten diagonally to the correct torque.
3. Fit the stationary part of the shaft seal with a soft tool. Be careful not to damage or touch the seal face with your fin-
gers.
4. Lubricate the shaft with soapy water and fit the rotating part of the shaft seal in the pump head. Be careful not to
damage or touch the seal face with your fingers.
5. Fit the impeller (pos. 49) and nut (pos. 67) and tighten to the correct torque.
6. Fit the O-ring (pos. 72a) to the pump head (pos. 2) and lubricate.
7. Fit the motor including pump head and impeller in the pump housing (pos. 6).
8. Tighten the nuts (pos. 36) and the screws holding the motor.
