5.5.1 Sample preparation

The analyzer can run 3 types of samples: whole blood samples, pre-diluted samples and body
fluid samples.
CAUTION
Prepare samples following the recommended procedure of the manufacturer.
All samples shall be mixed as shown in the following figure.
Whole blood samples:
1. Use clean EDTAK
samples.
2. Mix the sample by carefully inverting the tube 10 times.
Pre-diluted samples:
1. Select DILUENT.
2. The analyser is preparing for dispensing the diluent. When the preparation is
completed, a dialog box is displayed.
3. Present a clean uncapped tube to the probe and make sure the probe goes deep
enough into the bottom of the tube.
4. Press the ASPIRATE KEY to add 100 µL of diluent.
5. Remove the tube after the acoustic signal.
6. Tap on CANCEL to quit.
NOTE:
The number in the "Cancel" button shows the number of diluent dispensation.
7. Add 20 µL of venous blood or capillary blood to the diluent, close the tube and mix it
properly. Wait 3 min and mix again.
NOTE:
If more portions of diluent are needed, repeat steps 4.
You can also add diluent by pipetting into the tube.
