8. PAD PRESS
fig.test-12.eps
* Look out for the big sound.
The test program automatically checks whether or not the pressure value
changes.
If the test passes, execution automatically advances to the next test item.
* If any pad is touched or pressed at the time the test begins, the test fails (NG) and
the pad failing the test is indicated as flashing on the screen.

1.
Press each pad with gradually increasing pressure.
Using three fingers, press the M1 through M4 pads.
Using two fingers, press the M5 and S1 through S8 pads.
A pressure level meter and L, M, or H are displayed on the LCD screen.
If L, M and L are each detected, the message OK is displayed and the
display for the pad goes off.

If the response of the S2 through S7 pads is markedly sluggish compared
to the sensor component before replacement or to another HPD-20 (refer
to the unacceptable load criteria below), press + to adjust the Calib Level
value.
• The pressure-level meter does not display a reading of M (medium)
when a pressure load of 3 kg (30 N) is applied.
and also
• The pressure-level meter does not display a reading of MAX when a
pressure load of 5 kg (50 N) is applied.
Raising the value of Calib Level too high at this time can make the
effective range of the pads overly narrow. Adjust using + and -, being
careful not to raise the value higher than necessary.
* This calibration value is stored in memory in the HPD-20 and is not erased by a
factory reset.

* The test doesn't return OK if two or more pads press simultaneously.
2.
If all pads are OK, execution advances to the next test item.
