Check the version.

Press F3 (NEXT) to advance to the next test item.
2. MIDI

Using the MIDI cable, connect the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT connectors.

Disconnect the MIDI cable.
When correct detection occurs, execution automatically advances to the
next test item.

3. FOOT SW

* Before entering this test item, connect the FS-5 (2) to the FOOT SW jack.
1.
Depress the FS-5U connected to the white section of the PCS-31.
The message OK! is displayed next to SW1 ON: and OFF: on the screen.
2.
Depress the FS-5U connected to the red section of the PCS-31.
The message OK! is displayed next to SW2 ON: and OFF: on the screen.
When correct detection occurs, execution advances to the next test item.
3.
Disconnect the cable from the FOOT SW jack.
* The FS-5U (2) and the PCS-31 are also used in 12. TRIG IN (for PADSW) (p.
23), so keep them at hand and go on to the next test.
4. SW/LED

* Look out for the big sound.
This tests the operation of buttons with LEDs.
(9 types: PITCH, EFFECT, ROLL, KIT, QUICK REC, D-BEAM, MENU, -
and +)
1.
Press buttons displayed on the center of the screen.
The LED of the pressed button goes dark, and the next LED lights up.
Also, a sound is heard from the monitor speakers, and the corresponding
on-screen disappears.
* Pressing two or more buttons at the same time causes the message SHORT to
appear. Press the buttons again, one at a time.
This tests the operation of buttons with no LEDs.
(10 types: , , , , EXIT, ENTER, FUNC1, FUNC2, FUNC3 and
SHIFT)

Press buttons displayed on the center of the screen.
A sound is heard from the monitor speakers, and the corresponding on-
screen disappears.
* Pressing two or more buttons at the same time causes the message SHORT to
appear. Press the buttons again, one at a time.
When you have finished pressing all buttons, the message NEXT is
displayed on the screen.

Press F3 (NEXT) to advance to the next test item.
