Prepare for Installation

Unpack and check included parts:

The Aruba X2C2 RJ45 to DB9 Console Cable (JL448A) can be ordered separately, or as an accessory to
your switch:
A standard micro-USB (HPE Aruba Networking switches) or mini-USB (HPE FlexNetwork switches) cable
can be used to console into the switch. Only data-capable USB cables can be used as console cables. USB
charging-only cables will not work.
1. Prepare for installation.
To avoid personal injury or product damage, review the
installation.
2. Skip this step if a power supply is already installed in the switch.
If a power supply is not already installed in the switch, install at least one power supply before continuing in this guide. (See
the HPE Aruba Networking Switch Power Supply Quick Setup Guide and Safety/Regulatory Information document shipped
with your power supply units.) The HPE Aruba Networking 2930M switches use any of the following power supplies:
n Aruba X371 12VDC 250W 100-240VAC Power Supply (JL085A)
Aruba X372 54VDC 680W 100-240VAC Power Supply (JL086A)
n
n Aruba X372 54VDC 1050W 110-240VAC Power Supply (JL087A)
3. Power on and verify that self-test completes normally. An HPE Aruba Networking 2930M switch does not contain a power
on/off switch. It is turned on by connecting the AC power cord to the switch and to an AC power source.
