| m Reducing Picture Noise
Set the VNR (Video Noise Reduction) function to ON; noise appearing on the pic-
ture is reduced and noisy pictures are softened.
Operation:
1.
Press the VNR button. The indication is displayed for about 3 seconds.
2.
While the indication is displayed, press the VNR button again.
This switches

from "VNR Off" to "VNR On".

@ Switching the Aspect Ratio (4:3 -— 16:9)
Changing the aspect ratio of the screen is possible.
Important:
e@ The standard television broadcast aspect ratio is 4:3.
@ Turning the main power off and on restores the normal aspect ratio of 4:3.
@ No indication of "Aspect Ratio" on the screen appears.
@ When
connecting a D/D2-MAC
decoder and viewing the picture, set to the
appropriate ratio.
e@ For connecting and operating
a D/D2-MAC
decoder, refer to the instruction
manual for that component.
@ !n the aspect ratio of 16:9, horizontal lines may appear on the upper part of the
screen.
This is normal.
@ It is not recommended to view a regular programme of an aspect ratio of 4:3 in
16:9 mode, in order to use the surface of the picture tube uniformly.
