This TV set incorporates a sound multiplex decoder that can receive stereo broad-
casts and any accompanying second audio programme, such as a bilingual broad-
cast.
important:
@ When receiving Sound multiplex broadcast (stereo or dual sound), Sound mul-
tiplex indicator (green) lights.
[1] Stereo listening
When receiving a stereo broadcast, stereo sound can be listened to.
1) Press the sound multiplex button. (OO )
The "Sound Mode" indication appears on the screen.

@ When a stereo programme is being broadcast the " — On Air" indication
appears to the right of the "Stereo" indication.
e@ While receiving stereo broadcast, the sound multiplex indicator (green) lights.
2) Selecting the Stereo Sound mode
Each pressing of the Sound multiplex button (@Om! ) changes the mode in
the following order. (The selected mode is magenta coloured.)
Stereo —» Bilingual I —» Bilingual II —2» Mono
(2] Listening to a bilingual broadcast (Bilingual | or Bilingual I] sound)
When receiving a bilingual broadcast, sound of either Bilingual I or Bilingual If
can be selected for listening.
1) Press the Sound multiplex button. (QO)
The "Sound Mode" indication appears on the screen.

@ When a Bilingual I + Bilingual II] sound is being broadcast, "<— On Air"
indication appears to the right of the "Bilingual | . [I" indication.
@ When receiving a dual sound broadcast, the Sound multiplex indicator (green)
lights.
2) Select either the Bilingual I or Bilingual I] mode.
Each pressing of the Sound multiplex button ((COl/i) changes to the mode in
the following order.
(The selected mode is magenta coloured.)
Stereo —» Bilingual 1 —» Bilingual II — Mono
Notes:
@ To the right of the Normal sound mode, "¢ On Air" indication does not appear.
e For the relationship between Broadcasting Mode and Sound Mode Select, refer
to the following table.
