MAINTENANCE OF THE COFFEE GROUNDS CONTAINER AND DRIP TRAY
The drip tray receives used water and the coffee grounds container receives extracted grounds.
!
Important : The drip tray allows you to collect the water or the coffee that flows from the appliance during and after
preparations. It is important to always leave it in place and to empty and clean it everyday. The two orange
floats in the drip tray tell you when it is time to empty the water out of the container.
HOW TO EMPTY AND CLEAN THE DRIP TRAY
See Chapter 9.B "EMPTYING THE DRIP TRAY" of the quick start guide.
For hygiene reasons, because this tray is in contact with milk and coffee, we advise that you dismantle and clean each
element with a sponge, under hot water and soap everyday. We also recommend you to air dry each element before you
put it back in place.
Do not put in a dishwasher.
HOW TO EMPTY AND CLEAN THE COFFEE GROUNDS CONTAINER
See chapters 8.A "EMPTY THE COFFEE GROUND COLLECTOR" and 8.B "CLEAN THE COFFEE GROUND COLLECTOR
REGULARLY" of the Quick Start Guide.
When the "warning" LED
on the machine's interface lights up.
You can empty it more regularly and before the machine requests it, but when the machine is lit up this is so that it can record
that the container has indeed been emptied. For hygienic reasons, we recommend you to clean the ground container with a
sponge under hot water and soap everyday. We also recommend you to air dry each element before putting it back in place.
Do not put in a dishwasher.
!
Important: Failure to regularly empty your coffee grounds container and drip tray as indicated above may damage
your appliance.

MAINTENANCE OF THE WATER TANK AND BEAN CONTAINER

WHEN AND HOW TO CLEAN THE WATER TANK
For the preservation of best coffee flavor impacted by the quality of the water and hygienic reasons, we advise you to
daily clean the water tank with hot water and a bottle brush. It is also recommended that you let it air dry this element
before you put it back in the appliance.
WHEN AND HOW TO CLEAN THE BEAN CONTAINER
Coffee beans can leave greasy residue on the tank that can affect the quality of the coffee. To preserve the coffee
flavors and for hygienic reasons we recommend you to wipe it with a dry, soft cloth each time it needs to be refilled.
Caution: Do not clean using water as water in the bean container damages the machine.

MAINTAINING THE MILK SYSTEM

HOW AND WHY TO MAINTAIN THE MILK SYSTEM AFTER MAKING MILKY DRINKS
!
Important: In order to obtain identical froth each time, we recommend that you carry out the milk rinsing and rinse
the tube and connector after each milky drink.
1. After each milky drink
1a. Quick clean of the milk tube and connector (30 s)
For hygiene reasons, cleaning is required after each milky drink made. This involves carefully and manually cleaning the
tube and its connector with hot water after each use. See chapter 5.B "QUICK RINSE AFTER A MILKY DRINK" of the Quick
Start Guide.
1b. Automatic rinsing of the milk system (10s - 20 ml)
This rinsing should be done after each milky drink, when the machine notifies you and the START/STOP LED is flashing. This
lets you clean the whole of your machine's milk system.
When
the white warning
appears, press START/STOP to start the milk rinsing.
2. As soon
as the warning appears or if the warning is red
If you do not start rinsing immediately after the end of the recipe:
- A red warning will appear
on your control panel and will stay there until you begin a milk rinsing and manually
clean the milk system.
- Automatic rinsing will happen when the machine is switched off
Deep clean the milk system
!
Important: For hygienic reasons, we recommend you daily manual cleaning of the entire milk system in case of
regular use or when it is not used for a longer period (more than 2 days).
This involves dismantling and cleaning the removable "One Touch Cappuccino" block regularly, and also having the pipe
cleaner for the milk tube. See chapter 6 "DEEP MANUAL CLEANING OF THE MILK SYSTEM - 5 MIN" of the quick start
guide.
!
Important : For reasons of hygiene and in order to obtain identical froth each time, we recommend that you replace
the milk hose and its plastic nozzle approximately every three months. These accessories are available
from the KRUPS.fr website.
