15. Setting Slave mode On/Off ("SLAVE")
The "SLAVE* option in the Setup menu allows you to turn Slave mode on and off.
When this mode is on, the DMT-Svi will be able to synchronize the MTC (MIDI time
code) sent from the master DMT-8 ver2.0 (or D-80). (Along with the MTC the
master DMT-8 ver 2.0 (or D-80) will send digital signals to the slave DMT-8vi as a
reference). This setting is effective only in the selected Program and will be
maintained after you turn off the power.
1.
Press the STORE ksy while pressing and holding down the HOLD/> key to select
a Program.
2 Press the 01SP SEL key to select SETUP1' and press the EXECUTE/YES key.
(•SETUP" will ight up.)
Turn the JOG dial to select Ntnktng *SLAVF*.
Tht display will change to something similar to this, and the current value will appear
(The default setting is moFF%.)

3. Press the EXECUTE/YES key again.
The letters moFF* on the display wiU Mink and you can edit the
value now.
4. Use the JOG dial to select "oFF" or "on".
Turning the JOG dial counter-clockwise wiU select *oFF*. and turning it clochwtse will
select "on*.
5. Press the EXECUTE/YES key again.
The

2 will appear, and the setting is comp/ere

routed to any track- Otherwise, the DMT-8vi may generate noise,

Press the STOP button or the EXIT/NO key to quit Setup mode.
<Note>
The DMT-8*. requires an external dgtal as wel as an external MTC lor €s sieve operaton
Therefore. connect the DATA OUT termiral of the master 0-80 or DMT -8vt. to the DAT A
IN terminal of tho slave unit using an optical cable. (You do not need to set arty other
settngs on the master unit, since the master uni's DATA OUT connector always outputs
digital signal.)
It you have not connected the units as deecrfced above (or In the slave unit does not
recerve tfgltal signals oocreclly for some reason}, the 'DIGITAL' rndfcator of the slave
un* wiU blink, indicatag an error.
