To operate the Fostex DMT-8VL for moving and pasting data:
1. Set Move Points: Define the Clipboard In and Out points to mark the start and end of the section to move. Select the source track.
2. Set Paste Point: Define the Auto Punch In point as the paste destination.
3. Execute Move & Paste: - Press the MOVE key to move the selected data to the clipboard. - Press the PASTE key to paste the data at the destination. Note: the clipboard is cleared after this.
4. Clipboard Behavior: The clipboard updates each time you press COPY or MOVE.
5. Entering Points: - Press RECALL, then AUTO PUNCH IN to enter punch-in mode. - Use the HOLD key or SHUTTLE dial to position the cursor. - Use the JOG dial to set the time value. - Press STORE, then AUTO PUNCH IN to save the point.
6. Time Base: To change the time base (e.g., ABS, MTC, MIDI), press DISP SEL while holding EXECUTE/YES.
