4. The water may drip from the discharge pipe of the safety valve, so
that pipe must be left open to atmosphere and must be installed in
a continuously downward direction in a frost-free environment.
(See fig.3.2).
5. Connect a good quality hose (flexible pipe) to the safety valve
and connect its other end to the cold water source. Note that
the water pressure of the main water source should not
exceed 5 bars. If it exceeds this level a pressure reducing
valve should be installed. (See fig.3.3)
6. Connect another good quality hose to the hot water pipe in
the network, and connect its other end to the hot water outlet
at the of the water heater (marked with a red ring). (See
fig.3.3)

4. FILLING THE APPIANCE

WARNINGS
Switching the appliance on when not completely filled with water
-
will seriously damage the electric heating element.
- In the presence of water with hardness value >20º TH (where 1ºTH
= degree French = 10 mg CaCo3/l) a water softener must be
installed to reduce scaling inside the boiler and preserve the
efficiency of the electric heating element and water safety unit.
To fill the appliance:
1. Brings the stop valve to the operating position; to enable
appliance filling. The non-return valve prevents the return of
hot water.
2. Opens the main water supply or the appliance water feed cock.
3. Open a hot water tap (e.g. bath, sink, etc.) to allow the
discharge of air inside; the appliance is full when water flows
freely from the tap.
