INSTALLATION
Wall Fitting
The hood may be fixed to any rigid
vertical surface. If it is necessary to fix the
unit to a hollow construction plaster or
partition board structure then it must be
sufficientlyreinforced to be quite rigid in
the area of the hood mountings.
Use the paper template provided on the
wall for bracket fixing screws. Check the
distances of the holes are correct with a
measure as stated on the template.
At this stage it is important to allow
15mm (1/2") clear space above the hood
to enable it to be hooked onto the brackets
and for any subsequent removal for
cleaning or servicing.
When drilling the holes for the wall fixing
screws care must be taken to ensure that
they are quite level as there is only
minimal vertical adjustment of the fixing
brackets.
The brackets should be fixed with the
round end at the bottom.
Once the brackets are secured the hood
can be hooked on.
Access to the wall levelling screws is from
above the hood. These are located in the
two extension arms at either side of the
hood which fit over the wall brackets to
support the hood. Turn these screws until
the hood is positioned at right angles to
the wall cabinet carcase, then fit four
screws through the plastic counter sunk
plugs into the adjoining wall cabinet side
panels to fully secure the hood.
The hood should be secured to the
adjoining cabinets at each side of the hood
using the 4 x 12mm (1/2") round headed
screws provided. The screws holes are
located at each side of the casing, behind
the grille at the bottom of the guide.
Adjust the lower spacer panel at the rear
of the hood to lose off the gap.
Ducting Fitting
If the hood is to be ducted to the outside
the selector on the diffuser must be set in
Position 1. A charcoal filter is not required
when ducting.
The ducting used must be 100mm (4")
diameter and where flexible ducting is
fitted it should not be turned through very
tight bends as this may impair the
performance of the hood.
Fitting The Decor Panel
To fit the decor panel on to the hood will
require the removal of the complete visor
assembly from the hood. To remove the
visor pull open the visor into the operating
position press downwards on the visor
release catch, located on the left hand side
of the casing behind the visor, to allow
the visor to be removed.
The dimensions of the decor panel to be
fitted should be 59,6cm (23 1/2") wide by
45cm (17 3/4") high (minimum).
Use the paper template provided to mark
the holes on the reverse side of the decor
panel for fixing the screws. Ensure that the
template is aligned with the top edge of
the decor panel. Should a decor panel with
a measurement greater than 45cm (17
3/4") in height be fitted, failure to align
the top edge of the template with the top
edge of the decor panel will prevent the
visor opening when installed. Measure
before drilling to check that the distances
of the holes as stated on the template are
correct as the template could have altered
due to exposure to dampness after
manufacture.
