Before Connection
Note on Inputs/Outputs of the SB-V66S
The copy mode selector and the monitor output selector of
the SB-V66S are separated from each other. That is, you
can select the signal to be monitored regardless of the
editing signals.
Notes on video signal connection
These video inputs and outputs have two types of jack:
S VIDEO (multi-pin connector) and VIDEO (coaxial phono
jack).
When you select a video unit connected to the S VIDEO
jack by depressing the MONITOR button
The signal is supplied to the S VIDEO jack only.
When you select a video unit connected to the VIDEO
jack by depressing the MONITOR button
The signat is supplied to the VIDEO jack only. .
Notes on Video Unit's Input/Output Jacks
On input jacks
© There are two types of video units; one has S VIDEO
jacks, and the other does not.
¢ A video unit which has an S VIDEO input is also
equipped with a VIDEO input. However, it cannot receive
both S VIDEO and VIDEO signais at the same time.
When you select which to use, the following two methods
are available depending on video units:
For a video unit equipped with an S VIDEO/VIDEO
selector
Connect the cables to both types of jacks and select either
the S VIDEO signal or VIDEO signal by the selector.
When you connect to either the S VIDEO or VIDEO jack,
set the selector to the corresponding position with the
connected jack.
For a video unit which has no S VIDEO/VIDEO selector
If you connect the cables to both types of jacks, the
S VIDEO jack is automatically selected.
When using the VIDEO input jack of the video unit, be sure
to remove the cable from the S VIDEO jack of the video
unit.
On output jacks
A video unit with an S VIDEO output is also equipped with
a VIDEO jack. The signal is sent from both the S VIDEO
and VIDEO output jacks, thus allowing both jacks to be
used at the same time.
