Preparing the vehicle
Before starting work, check that the vehicle is free from defects. Use the PIWIS II
i
system tester to read out all the fault memories of the individual vehicle
components and first rectify any faults displayed.
Move the steering column adjustment completely downwards and towards the
back (maximum working space).
Switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery when working on the vehicle
i
electrical/electronics system.
