REPAIRING A SCRATCH ON A BLACK WINDOW
FRAME (SERIES 2000, 8600, 8800 AND 9000)
Purpose
This document outlines how to repair a scratch on black window frame for series 2000, 8600,
8800, and 9000.

• Rubbing alcohol
• Sandpaper, 180 grit or finer (depending on
severity of the damage)
• Orbital sander (if desired)
NOTE: For best color consistency of the original product the following black paints are recommended:
• 348444 - Forney Brand Black Paint Marker 0230180
• 348997 - SEM 39143 Trim Black Aerosol
NOTE: Color may very slightly, at application or exposure to sun exposure or weather.
Preparation
1.
If window is on a unit, make sure the unit is parked and powered off.
2.
Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to clean the damaged area of debris.
3.
Tape off around the area to avoid over spray if using spray paint.
