66 ADJUSTMENT
Adjusting headlight beam
throw
Requirement
Even with spring preload
correctly adjusted, oncoming
traffic is dazzled if the motor-
cycle is heavily loaded.
Loosen screws 1.
Swivel the headlight to adjust
beam throw.
Tighten screws 1 while hold-
ing the headlight so that it
cannot move out of position.
Headlight to bracket
M8 x 40
19 Nm
When the motorcycle is again
ridden with a lower load:
Have the basic settings of the
headlight restored by a spe-
cialist workshop, preferably an
authorised BMW Motorrad re-
tailer.

CLUTCH

Adjusting clutch lever
WARNING
Relocated clutch-fluid reser-
voir
Air in the clutch system
Do not turn the handlebars
or the handlebar fitting on
the handlebar.
WARNING
Adjusting the clutch lever
while riding
Risk of accident
Adjust the clutch lever only
when the motorcycle is at a
standstill.
