118 SETTING
Reposition windshield
The windshield can be fas-
tened on the motorcycle in
two different positions.
To reposition the 1 wind-
shield, remove all 2 screws
and take off the windshield.
Position windshield on corre-
sponding hole 3 while watch-
ing bushing 4 (inserted from
below) and rubber grom-
met 5.
Install all four screws 6.
Windshield in bracket
M5 x 20
Windshield in bracket
2 lb/ft (2.4 Nm)

HEADLIGHTS

Headlight range and spring
setting
The headlight range generally
remains constant due to the
adjustment of the spring set-
ting to the loading state.
Only with a very heavy payload
can adjustment of the spring
setting be insufficient. If that is
the case, the headlight range
must be adapted to the weight.
If there are doubts as
to the correct headlight
range, have the setting checked
by a repair shop, preferably by
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
