Rear brake fluid level
Brake fluid, DOT4
The brake fluid level must
not fall below the MIN mark.
(Brake fluid reservoir horizon-
tal, vehicle standing upright.)
If the brake fluid level falls be-
low the approved level:
Have defect corrected as
soon as possible by an autho-
rized repair shop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
dealer.

CLUTCH

Checking the clutch function
Pull the clutch lever.
The resistance point must be
clearly perceptible.
If no clear resistance point can
be felt:
Have the clutch checked by
a repair shop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
dealer.

COOLANT

Checking the coolant level
Park the motorcycle, making
sure the ground is level and
firm.
Allow the engine to cool
down.
Check coolant level at expan-
sion tank 1.
Required coolant level
Between MIN and MAX
marks on the expansion tank
(Engine cold)
