Operation

Before the first Use

Dispose of used packaging material carefully or store it out of the reach of children.
There is a danger of suffocation!
The micrometre is not a toy and do not belong in the hands of children.

General Recommendations for the Use of Micrometres

The micrometre is a precision tool and should be treated with care. Do not subject
it to shock or extreme mechanical stresses and keep it clean at all times. This
applies especially to the measuring surfaces, which should be cleaned before use
with a lint-free cloth or leather.
Exclusively use the ratchet stop (2) to bring the measuring surfaces on the
measuring spindle (11) and the anvil (10) of the micrometre in contact with the
measured object. When the ratchet stop starts slipping the measuring surfaces are
sufficiently tight against the measured object to yield a precise reading. Tightening
the screw further will cause the housing of the micrometre to flex and compromise
the measuring results.
Exclusively use the temperature isolated handling surfaces (9) to grasp the
micrometre to keep the warmth of your hands from causing the housing of the
micrometre to distort and compromise the measuring results.

Reading from the analogous Scale

The analogous scale can be read like that of a mechanical micrometre. A full turn
on the thimble moves the spindle by .5 mm. On the inner tube is a mm scale with
full mm indicated by indices pointing up and half mm by indices pointing down. The
circumferential scale on the thimble indicates hundredths, i.e when the thimble is
just beyond the 5.5 mm index on the inner tube and the number 25 on the
circumferential scale matches the index line on the mm scale, the measured value
is 5.75 mm.

Turning ON and OFF

Press the ON/0 button (7) to turn the micrometre on and off. Please keep in mind
that the micrometre does not turn off automatically, it must always be turned off
manually with the ON/0 button (7).

Setting Zero and relative Measuring

A zero point to take measurements from can be set at any position of the spindle.
To do so, press the ON/0 button (7) while the micrometre is turned on. Upon
