General troubleshooting
When troubleshooting, the entire measuring point must be taken into account:
• Transmitter
• Electrical connections and cables
• Process spectrometer
The possible causes of error in the following table relate mainly to the process
spectrometer.
Problem
No information displayed,
device does not respond
Display value too high or too
low
Display value fluctuating greatly Is the mounting location correct?
1. Pay attention to the troubleshooting information in the Operating Instructions for
the transmitter.
2. Check the transmitter if necessary.

• Power supplied to transmitter?
• Device connected correctly?
• Buildup on optical windows?
• Light defective?
• Buildup on optical windows?
• Process spectrometer calibrated?

‣
Connect mains voltage.
‣
Establish correct connection.
‣
Clean device.
‣
Replace lamp.
‣
Clean optical windows.
‣
Calibrate device.
‣
Select a different mounting location.
‣
Adjust measured value filter.
