if the HZ reading displays zero due to insufficient sensitivity,
activate the HZ function before measuring the signal to select
the highest Hz sensitivity.
Diode Test
1.
Insert the black lead into the negative COM jack and the
red test lead into the positive

Touch the test probe tips to the diode or semiconductor
junction you wish to test. Note the meter reading.

Reverse the test lead polarity by reversing the red and
black leads. Note this reading.

The diode or junction can be evaluated as follows:
A. If one reading displays a value (typically 0.400V to
0.900V) and the other reading displays "OL", the diode is
good.
B. If both readings display "OL", the device is open.
C. If both readings are very small or 0, the device is
shorted.
Temperature Measurements (MA460+)

Insert the Type K thermocouple into the COM and

Wait 30 seconds for the measurement to stabilize.
6.
Read the temperature on the LCD display.
Data Hold
1.
Press the Data Hold key to "freeze" the reading in the
display. The annunciator "H" will appear in the display.
2.
Press the Data Hold key to exit the mode.
Note: On the MA440 and MA460+ double display models, the
Data Hold feature applies only to the upper current
display (ACA).
