Quicksilver 605OP — System & Component Overview and Operation
Storage
Long periods of storage and/or non-use, common to boats, create unique problems. When preparing
to store a boat for extended periods, disconnect the fuel line.
REFER TO THE ENGINE MANUFACTURER'S MANUAL IN YOUR OWNER'S MANUAL PACKAGE FOR
COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS AND WARRANTY INFORMATION.
E85 FUELS COULD SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR ENGINE AND
MUST NEVER BE USED.
Do not obstruct or modify the ventilation system.

2. Fresh Water System (optional)

The fresh water system consists of an 45 liter water tank, pump, and plumbing connections for a
transom shower.
Filling the Tank
The water tank can be filled through the water fill inlet located on the port side of the helm console.
Fill the tank only from a source known to provide safe, pure drinking water. Use only a plastic hose to
fill the water tank.
Be sure to fill the water tank from a source known to
provide safe, pure drinking water.
Fresh Water Pump
The fresh water pump delivers water from the tank to the transom shower. To power the system turn
on the WATER PUMP switch located on the dash. Turn off the power to the pump when your boat is
not in use or when the fresh water tank is empty.
Disinfect the Fresh Water System
The following is a recommended procedure to disinfect the fresh water system:
1. Flush the entire system thoroughly by allowing potable water to flow through it.
2. Drain the system completely.
3. Fill the entire system with an approved disinfecting solution. Check with your dealer for
recommended products, and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
4. After disinfecting, drain the entire system.
5. Flush the entire system thoroughly several more times with potable water.
Maintenance
Maintenance of the fresh water system will require you to check the fittings and hoses to make sure
that there are no leaks.
Before the winter season, the fresh water system must be completely drained to avoid damage.
The use of fuels containing ethanol higher than 10 percent
(E-10) can damage your engine and/ or fuel system and will
void the warranty.
If you do not use the freshwater system for long periods of
time, or only use it seasonally, it is recommended that you
disinfect the system before using.
