- Page 6 Method of using the Cargo bar: 1.To lengthen the bar, compress the release lever on the ratchet handle & rotate the handle until unlocked. Now pump the ratchet to extend the bar. 2.Pump the ratchet handle until the bar is secure enough to restrain cargo. Move the handle down flat to lock for transit.
