Changing the valve and bearing plate (assembly)

Renewing the valve- and bearing plates.
Install the bearing plate so that the
milled slot locates over the pin and the
pilot ring fits in the center bore of the
cylinder block. After installation lubricate
the exposed surfaces with clean oil.

Install the pilot ring and the locating pin
in the cylinder block.

Assemble the bearing race shim (if
required) and locating pin in the end cap.
Lubricate the end cap face with clean oil.
Install the valve plate so that the milled
slot locates over the pin and the center
bore fits over the protruding bearing
case. Check the valve plate to be certain
it is a motor valve plate (has 4 tapered
slots).
