instructed is searched in TIME
time number is recorded on disc in minutes or seconds, as shown below:

WHEN PLAYING BACK A COMPACT DISC
SYMPTOM
21 Player stops immediately
after starting playback.
REMEDY
e@ Load the disc correctly with the label side
upward.
@ Use a soft cloth and lightly wipe off the dirt
from the surface of the disc.
If necessary,
moisten a cloth with diluted neutral detergent
to remove heavy dirt or fingerprints.
e@ Disc is loaded upside down,
@ The playing surface of the disc is dirty.
22 No sound output
@ The stereo amplifier is not correctly connected.
e You are not operating the stereo amplifier
correctly.
@ The connection terminals and/or the plugs of the
connection cords ane dirty.
@ The plugs of the connection cords are
disconnected, or are not fully pushed in.
e@ You have connected the amplifier to the player
LV (ANALOG) AUDIO OUT terminals.
e@ Connect the ampifier correctly.
e Refer to the operating instructions for the
amplifier, and operate the amplifier correctly.
@ Clean the plugs and terminals and connect again.
@ Make sure that connections are correct.
@ Connect the amplifier to the CD/LV AUDIO
OUT terminals.
(The LV (ANALOG) AUDIO
OUT terminals, do not provide audio output
for Compact Disc playback.)
@ Press the PLAY key and restore the player to
PLAY mode.
@ Connect the CD/LV AUDIO OUT terminals
of the player, to the CD or AUX input terminals
etc, of the amplifier.
(Do not connect to the
PHONO input terminals of the amplifier.)
e Clean the plugs and terminals and connect again.
e@ The player is in PAUSE mode.
23 Sound is distorted
e The stereo amplifier is not correctly connected.
@ The connection terminals and/or the plugs of the
connection cords are dirty.
@ The plugs of the connection cords are not fully
pushed in.
e Push the plug in firmly.
@ The playing surface of the disc is dirty.
@ Use a soft cloth and lightly wipe off the dirt
from the surface of the disc.
If necessary,
moisten a cloth with diluted neutral detergent
to remove heavy dirt or fingerprints.
