Congratulations! You are the proud owner of a BISTRO,
the electric coffee grinder from BODUM®. Before using the
coffee grinder read these instructions carefully.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed, including the following.
This BODUM® coffee grinder is intended for grinding coffee
beans for domestic use only. Do not use to grind anything else
as this would damage the appliance.
Before operating this appliance for the first time, read all
instructions. Failure to observe the instructions and safety
notes may result in hazardous conditions.
After unpacking the appliance, check it for damage. If in
doubt, do not use it, contact your dealer.
Keep the packaging materials (cardboard, plastic bags etc.)
out of reach of children (danger of suffocation or injury).
This appliance is designed for household use only. Do not use
outdoors. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner,
or in a heated oven.
The manufacturer rejects any liability for damage or injury
caused by improper or unreasonable use. Do not use appli-
ance for other then intended use.
Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
Never touch the appliance with damp or wet hands. Do
not touch the mains cable or plug with wet hands. Always
unplug the appliance by holding the plug, not the cord. Do
not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot
surfaces, including the stove. Do not operate any appliance
with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunc-
tions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Contact the
manufacturer at their customer service telephone number for
information on examination, repair, or adjustment.

The use of any accessory attachment, not recommended or
sold by the appliance manufacturer, may result in fire, electric
shock or injury to persons.
In the case of a fault or malfunction occurring, switch the appli-
ance off; do not attempt to repair it yourself. Have repairs to the
appliance carried out only by a customer service workshop that
is authorised by the manufacturer. Failure to comply with the
above safety notes can compromise the safety of the appliance.
Never attempt to exchange the mains cable of the appliance
as special tools are required for this. To ensure continued
safety of the appliance, if the cable needs to be repaired or
exchanged, have this carried out exclusively by a customer
service work shop authorised by the manufacturer.
Unplug from outlet when not in use before putting on or tak-
ing off parts and before cleaning. Never immerse the item in
water: remember this is an electrical appliance.
Switch off the appliance and disconnect from supply before
changing accessories or approaching parts that move in use.
Only clean the appliance using a brush or damp cloth.
To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons do
not immerse cord, plugs and the unit in water or other liquid.
Avoid contacting moving parts.
Do not permit children to play with the device.
Always disconnect the appliance from the supply if it is left
unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning.
This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appli-
ance and its cord out of reach of children.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they
understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
