Battery loading:
Please refer to the illustration to open the battery compartment, insert the CR2032 battery and close the compartment.


  1. Don't swallow the battery; danger of chemical burn.
  2. The product includes a wafer battery. Swallowing this battery may lead to injury or death. Do not place the new or old battery in where children can get to it.
  3. Don't use the product if the battery cover is missing or not closed, and keep the remote inaccessible to children.
  4. Please go to the hospital immediately if the battery is swallowed.

Note:

  1. Do not place the remote control in places that are hot and humid.
  2. Do not charge the batteries.
  3. Remove the batteries when unused for a long period of time.
  4. The battery should not be exposed to excessive heat such as direct sun, fire or similar.
  5. Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.

  1. Connect the audio cable to the Line In 1/Line In 2 input port on the rear panel of the active speaker (please pay attention to the corresponding colors), and the other end to the audio source (i.e. PC, mobile phones and etc.).
  2. Press the "LINE1"/"LINE2" button on the remote control or press the master volume dial on the rear panel of the active speaker. The LED indicator on the active speaker turns to green: Line In 1 mode (The light will flash once), Line In 2 mode (The light will flash twice).
  3. Play music and adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

Optical / Coaxial Input
Audio source input - Optical / Coaxial Input

  1. Connect the "Fiber optic audio cable" or "Coaxial cable" (not included) to OPT/COAX input port on the rear panel of the active speaker and device with optical and coaxial input.
  2. Press "OPT"/"COAX" button on the remote control or press the master volume dial on the rear panel of the active speaker.
    The LED light on the active speaker turns to red: optical mode (The light will flash once), coaxial mode (The light will flash twice).
  3. Play music and adjust the volume to a comfortable level.

Note: In optical and coaxial modes, only PCM signal with 44.1KHz/48KHz can be decoded.

Bluetooth mode

  1. Press " " button on the remote control or the master volume dial of the active speaker to select Bluetooth mode.
    LED indicator turns to blue.
  2. Turn on your Bluetooth device. Search and connect to "EDIFIER R1855DB".
    Disconnect Bluetooth: press and hold the master volume dial or the " " button on the or remote control for about 2 seconds to disconnect Bluetooth.

Note:

  • The Bluetooth on R1855DB can only be searched and connected after switching the speaker to Bluetooth input mode. The existing Bluetooth connection will be disconnected once the speaker is switched to other audio source. When the speaker is switched back to Bluetooth input mode, the speaker will try to connect to the last connected Bluetooth audio source device.
  • Pin code is "0000" if it is needed.
  • To enjoy all Bluetooth functions of this product, please ensure your audio source device has A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) and AVRCP (Audio Video Remote Control Profile) profiles.
  • Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility may differ amongst different source devices, depending on the software versions of source devices.

Troubleshooting

No sound

  • Check if the speaker is ON.
  • Try to turn up the volume using either the master volume control or remote control.
  • Ensure the audio cables are firmly connected and the input is set correctly on the speakers.
  • Check if there is a signal output from the audio source.

Cannot connect via Bluetooth

  • Make sure the speaker is switched to Bluetooth input. If it is in other audio input modes, Bluetooth will not connect.
    Disconnect from any Bluetooth device by pressing and holding the " " button, then try again.
  • Effective Bluetooth transmission range is 10 meters; please ensure that operation is within the range.
  • Try another Bluetooth device for connection.

The R1855DB does not turn on

  • Check if main power is connected, or if the wall outlet is switched on.

Noise coming from speakers

  • EDIFIER speakers generate little noise, while the background noise of some audio devices are too high. Please unplug audio cables and turn the volume up, if no sound can be heard at 1 meter away from the speaker, then there is no problem with this product.
