IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before use.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in
water or other liquids.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before
putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the
nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer may cause injuries.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or
other hot liquids.
12. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To
disconnect, turn control to MIN, then remove plug from wall outlet.
13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

Polarization instructions
• If this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), it is to
reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet
only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in
any way.
Short Cord instructions
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to
reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may
be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used:
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as
great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding
3-wire cord; and

3) The length of the cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop
or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

Your appliance contains valuable materials which can be recovered or
recycled.
Leave it at a local civic waste collection point.
BEFORE USE
 Remove all packaging and stickers from your waffle maker and wipe the housing and plates
with a damp cloth to remove any dust or residue remaining from manufacturing.
 We recommend seasoning the non-stick plates with cooking spray or oil before use. For
best results, it is suggested to repeat this process at the start of each use.
ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY
1. Open the lid of the waffle maker by depressing the release latch located on the underside
of the handle and lifting up.
2. To remove waffle plates
a. Be sure plates are completely cool.
b. Press the upper plate release button (located on the left side of the lid above the
indicator lights) with one hand, while removing the plate with the other hand.
c. Repeat the process with the lower plates (release button located on the left bottom
housing).
3. To replace waffle plates
a. Insert the waffle plate tabs into the unit and press down. You will hear the plates click
into place.
IMPORTANT
The appliance might generate a slight odor or smoke the first time it is used; this is
normal.
OPERATION
1. Make sure the plates are in place and the selector knob is turned to the MIN position. Plug
in the waffle maker.
2. Turn on the heater and begin preheating by selecting the desired setting with the Selector
Knob (Setting 1 will result in the lightest waffle; setting 5 the darkest). Pre-heat the waffle
maker in the closed position.
a. The red ON indicator will "light up" to indicate that the waffle maker is on and heating.
NOTE: The Removable Plates have a non-stick cooking surface that may emit a slight odor
during first use. This is normal and commonly occurs with non-stick coatings.
3. When the waffle maker has reached the selected temperature and is ready to use, the
green READY indicator will "light up" and the audible tone will sound.
a. Lift the lid and add batter. Then close the lid again to cook.
NOTE: There will be some steam during cooking. This is normal and expected.
