create shorts between two pins
to change the function of the
connector. Pin 1 is identified
with a square solder pad on
the printed circuit board. See
the motherboard layout pages

No te : On two pin jumpers,
"Closed" means the jumper is
on and "Open" means the
jumper is off the pins.

CMOS Clear

JBT1 is used to clear CMOS. Instead of pins, this jumper consists of con-
tact pads to prevent accidentally clearing the contents of CMOS. To clear
CMOS, use a metal object such as a small screwdriver to touch both pads
at the same time to short the connection.
cord from the system before clearing CMOS.
Note: For an ATX power supply, you must completely shut down the sys-
tem, remove the AC power cord and then short JBT1 to clear CMOS. Do
not use the PW_ON connector to clear CMOS.

Main Power Override

Instead of using the chassis
power on switch, you may close
jumper JP40 to apply power to the
system.
This effectively disables
the power button from turning off
the system. See the table on the
right for jumper settings. The de-
fault setting is Open (normal).
