Series

These installation and operating instructions describe the series:
Assembly
Hydraulic unit WHSE HE 24V (0-10V)
Further binding information on the hydraulic unit can be found on the type plate!

1.10 Scope of delivery

The hydraulic assembly is supplied pre-assembled.
1 x WHSH HE 24V (0-10V)
The assembly consists of::
– circulating pump, 3-way valve with actuator, piping, check valve, shut-off valve with thermometer (flow/return)
2 x reinforced hose (stainless steel), DN25, 1"
2 x reducing nipple, brass ¾" - 1"
1 x sealing kit
1 x Installation and operating instructions
3-part casing insulation

1.11 Area of application

The hydraulic assemblies WHSH HE... are used to operate a heating circuit in connection with Helios warm water hea-
ter batteries. The flow temperature to the heater battery is regulated with the help of a 3-way-valve, which is operated
by an electrical actuator 24V (0-10V). Only install within the building envelope in frost-free rooms > 5°C.

The safety instructions in chapter 1.2 must be observed!
m
Danger to life due to electric shock!
With regard to connection/dismantling work on a live controller, there is a risk of fatal electric shock.
– The connection of electrical components such as pumps, actuators etc. to a controller for power supply must always
be carried out by an electrician.
– Any existing controllers must first be fully isolated from the mains voltage and secured against restarting.
– Ensure the controller is voltage-free before any wiring work for connecting e.g. pumps or actuators.
– Only apply voltage to newly installed controllers once all system components are completely wired.
– Only install fitting group in dry and closed rooms.
– The fitting group must be properly grounded via potential equalisation pursuant to applicable standards prior to
commissioning. If factory grounding specifications are specified, they must be used.
– A potential equalisation using piping is not permitted. VDE 0100-540 must be observed.
m
Risk of scalding due to hot media!
When working on the fitting group during operation, there is a risk of scalding from the uncontrolled discharge of hot
water or steam.
– Drain the heating system or shut off the supply lines in the relevant section prior to all work (conversion, maintenance,
dismantling).
– Allow the system to cool down.
– Always wear protective glasses when venting the system.
m
Risk from pressurised fittings!
With regard to pressurised fittings, there is a risk of injury from the uncontrolled discharge of media or suddenly deta-
ched parts in case of improper handling, overpressure or defects.
– Once installation is complete, the leak tightness of the internal components of the fitting group and the external
system connections must be checked.
– Always maintain permissible operating pressures during operation.
– Ensure that defective components which are pressurised during operation are immediately replaced by qualified
personnel.
– Always carry out maintenance and dismantling work on the unpressurised system.
m
Risk of burns from hot fittings!
Fitting group parts can become hot during operation and unprotected contract can cause burns.
– Decommission the heating system and allow it to cool down prior to all work (conversion, maintenance, dismantling).
– Wear protective gloves if necessary.
