MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard
or cause product damage.
WARNING:
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses
with side shields during power tool operation
or when blowing dust. If operation is dusty, also
wear a dust mask.
WARNING:
Before inspecting, cleaning or servicing the
machine, shut off engine, wait for all moving parts
to stop, and disconnect spark plug wire and move
it away from spark plug. Failure to follow these
instructions can result in serious personal injury
or property damage.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline,
petroleum based products, penetrating oils, etc.,
come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may
result in serious personal injury.
Before running the engine, perform the following pre-
operation steps:
Check that all bolts, nuts, etc. are securely tightened.
Make sure the air filter (item 23) is clean.
Check both the engine oil level and the fuel tank
level; refill as needed.
Inspect the work area for hazards.
If there is excessive noise or vibration, stop the unit
immediately.
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER (Fig.19)
A dirty air filter will cause starting difficulty, loss of
performance, and shorten the life span of the engine.
Check the air filter monthly. If working in dusty areas,
clean the air filter after each refueling. For best
performance, replace the air filter at least once a year.
To clean the air filter:
Remove the cover (item 24).
Lift the edge of the air filter carefully and pull it out.
Wash the air filter with warm, soapy water.
Rinse and squeeze to dry.
ENGLISH
Put small amount of 10W30. motor oil on the filter
sponge. Squeeze out the excess oil then reinstall the
air filter.
NOTE: Make sure the filter is seated properly inside
the cover. Installing the filter incorrectly will allow dirt
to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear.
Reinstall the cover.
CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL (Fig. 20)
Shut off the engine.
Place a container (item 25) under the pressure
washer.
Remove the oil drain plug (item 26) and drain the old
oil.
NOTE: Drain the oil while the engine is still warm
but not hot. Warm oil will drain quickly and more
completely.
Reinstall the oil plug.
Replace the oil with new, clean oil. This engine will
hold 0.6 litres of oil.
(Recommended 4-stroke engine oil: 10W30)
CHECKING A FOULED SPARK PLUG (Fig. 21)
Clean off carbon deposits on the spark plug
electrode using a plug cleaner or wire brush.
Check electrode gap. The gap should be 0.6mm
- 0.7mm. Adjust the gap, if necessary, by carefully
bending the side electrode.
(Recommended spark plug: NGK BR-6HS;
CHAMPION RL86C.)
NOZZLE MAINTENANCE (Fig. 22)
Excessive pump pressure (a pulsing sensation felt while
squeezing the trigger) may be the result of a clogged or
dirty nozzle.
Turn off the pressure washer and shut off the water
supply. Pull trigger to release water pressure.
Remove the nozzle (item 5) from the spray wand.
NOTE: Never point the spray wand at your face.
Using the nozzle cleaning tool (item 6) provided with
this product, free any foreign materials clogging or
restricting the nozzle.
Using a garden hose, flush debris out of nozzle by
back flushing (running the water through the nozzle
backwards or from the outside to the inside).
Reinstall the nozzle then reconnect the nozzle to the
spray wand.
Turn on the water supply and start the engine.

PUMP MAINTENANCE

We recommend having the pump oil changed every 100
hours to ensure longer life of the machine. This service
should be performed by an authorized service centre.
