Note: For each device you want to attach to the switch, you will need a Category 5 Ethernet UTP patch cable. StarTech.com offers a wide range of these cables in various lengths and colors to suit your network needs. StarTech.com also carries a wide range of Ethernet cards for both PC and notebook computers. -
Page 5: Installation And Usage
1. Place the Switch on a flat table or, if you wish to mount the Switch, the StarTech.com Fast Ethernet switch has two wallmount sockets that allow it to be hung from most walls. To mount the switch, you will need a drill, a screwdriver, two #6 wood screws and their corresponding wall plugs. - Page 6 Power LED The LED indicators are used for monitoring and troubleshooting of the Switch: Power LED: This indicator will light up when the Switch powers up. If the LED is not lit, please check the power adapter and connection. LINK/ACT LEDs: These LEDs indicate Link/Active status. One LED indicator will light green when a device is connected to the corresponding port.
