2. Safety precautions

Read this user manual thoroughly so that you understand and are able to follow all
-
safety precautions and operation functions before you start working with the
machine
-
Children must not use the saw
If you feel ill, tired or if you are under influence of alcohol or medicine you must not
-
work with the chain saw
-
Always use safety footwear, safety trousers, protection glasses, ear protectors and
safety helmet
Make sure any spectators are placed at least 10 meters from your working area
-
-
Never start working before:
You have calculated where the tree will land
-
Always hold the handle of the chain saw with both hands and with the thumb under
-
the front hanger
Keep the chain saw away from your body
-
Before you start the chain saw - make sure the chain doesn't fall foul of anything
-
Always stop the engine when you are not using the chain saw. Make sure the bar and
-
chain turn backwards when you carry the machine.
Inspect your chain saw for worn, loose fitting or damaged parts. Tighten bolts and
-
nuts. The machine must only be used in correct and operational conditions. Make
sure the chain doesn't move when the engine idles
-
Be extra careful when working with bushes and small trees. Small branches can
catch a hold of the chain and be hurled against you or make you lose your balance
Make sure the handles are clean and there are no surplus of oil
-
-
Only work with the chain saw outdoors
Work only with cutting of trees, when you are specifically educated for it
-
-
All repairs - not described in this manual - must only be carried out by your dealer.
Use of wrong tools can damage your chain saw
The chain brake is mounted in order to protect against "kickbacks", which are quick
-
upwards going movements of the bar. These may appear if the bar tip hits a foreign
object. Therefore it is important you are aware of how the chain brake works
Keep a firm grip of the chain saw with both hands on the handle and have it close to
-
you in order to keep control
Let the engine body lye against the tree while sawing
-
Avoid sawing with the bar tip and make sure the saw tip doesn't hit anything while
-
sawing
Don't work with the chain saw above shoulder height
-
- The working area has been cleared
- You have gained safe footing
