3.1.6 Confi rm that the mounting location meets the following guidelines:
• The drive must be mounted vertically on a smooth, solid surface, and in a suitable environment as defi ned above. For
horizontal installation, contact your local Baldor District Offi ce for more information.
• The minimum space requirements for the drive are the outside dimensions (see section Dimensions and Weights), plus air
fl ow space around the drive (see section Watts-Loss below).
• The distance between the motor and the drive is limited by the maximum motor cable length. See section Motor
connection specifi cations.
• The mounting site must support the drive's weight. See section Weight.
3.2 Tools Required
To install the drive you need the following tools:
• screwdrivers (as appropriate for the mounting hardware used)
• wire stripper
• tape measure
• drill (if the drive will be installed with screws/bolts)
• mounting hardware: screws or bolts (if the drive will be installed with screws/bolts). For the number of screws/bolts, see
Section Prepare to Mount the Drive.
