PROBLEM OBSERVED
Burner takes too long to fully light
Burner & pilot light but will not stay lit
Incorrect burner flame
Flame burns blue and lifts off main
burner.
Fireplace produces unwanted odors
Whistle noise from fireplace
Flame is faint or "ghosting"
With proper installation and maintenance, your new Direct-Vent Gas Fireplace will provide years of trouble-free service. If you do experience a problem,
refer to the Troubleshooting Guide below. This guide will assist a qualified service person in diagnosis and corrective action.

Low gas pressure
Clogged or dirty carryover/burner ports
Blocked orifice
Faulty valve
Too much crushed glass media
Low gas pressure

thermostat or thermostat remote) Room
temperature is higher than thermostat
setting
Faulty pilot or thermocouple
Incorrect gas supply or pressure
Blocked or incorrect orifice
Clogged or dirty burner ports
Faulty valve
High altitude
Too much crushed glass media or too
many logs/rocks on burner surround
Insufficient oxygen being supplied.
Initial burn-off of manufacturing chemicals
Check gas pressure
Air in gas line
Shut-off not in fully open position
Spiral gas flex line pinched or too small
diameter line
Too much crushed glass media or too
many logs/rocks on burner surround
CORRECTIVE MEASURE
Check gas supply pressure
Clean ports
Check orifice opening
Replace valve
Remove excessive glass media
Check gas supply pressure
Move (optional) remote away from
fireplace
Set higher temperature on (Optional)
remote/thermostat
Replace pilot
Check gas supply pressure
Check orifice opening
Clean burner ports
Replace valve
Adjust orifice size for altitude
Remove excessive media. Reduce
number of logs/rocks
Check to make sure vent cap is installed
properly and free of debris. Make sure
that vent system joints are tight and have
no leaks.
Check to make sure that no material has
been placed at the main burner base.
Ventilate room until odor stops
Adjust gas pressure to recommended
setting.
Bleed lines
Open valve to full position
Straighten flex line where pinched or
replace gas feed line with larger diameter
Remove excessive media. Reduce number
of logs/rocks
