® Documentation overview R&S TSVP Release notes and open source acknowledgment Brochures and specifications Separate brochures are provided for the base unit, the individual plug-in module types, as well as for the control software. The brochures provide an overview of the base units and each additional module, and also contain the technical specifi- cations.
With its flexible configuration and the use of worldwide standards, it can be perfectly adapted to suit your needs. You can create larger ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) systems by combining an R&S CompactTSVP or R&S ExpressTSVP and an R&S PowerTSVP.
The R&S CompactTSVP is suitable for all types of production tests. The modules plugged into the R&S CompactTSVP can be used to create test and control signals for the UUT, and to measure and evaluate the response from the UUT.
R&S PowerTSVP are controlled by a serial bus system (CAN bus). If the R&S PowerTSVP is connected to a R&S CompactTSVP, the modules are control- led by the system controller of the R&S CompactTSVP. Otherwise, the R&S Pow- erTSVP is connected to an external PC with a CAN bus controller installed.

The embedded computer or the remote control interface is installed in the R&S ExpressTSVP or the R&S CompactTSVP. The external host computer is typ- ically a desktop computer, an industrial PC (IPC) or any other host controller with a free PCI Express slot to accomodate a PCIe-to-PCIe bridge card.
Page 31
To install a PCI-to-PCI bridge connection using R&S TS-PSC08 1. On the external PC, install the R&S TS-PSC08-A PCI card. 2. For R&S CompactTSVP: Install the R&S TS-PSC08-B module in rear slot 1. Do not plug any other module into slot 1 on the front panel.
Considerations for test setup Connecting the R&S PowerTSVP to a control PC If the R&S PowerTSVP is not connected to a R&S CompactTSVP, the modules must be controlled by an external PC. In this case, a CAN bus interface suppor- ted by the IXXAT VCI software is required (e.g.
