Before you open the computer cover, turn off the computer and wait several minutes until the computer is
cool.
Replacement procedure
1. Turn off the computer and remove all connected devices and cables.
2. Remove the computer stand cover. See "Computer stand cover" on page 60.
3. Remove the computer stand. See "Computer stand" on page 60.
4. Remove the optical drive. See "Optical drive" on page 61.
5. Remove the computer cover. See "Computer cover" on page 65.
6. Remove two screws from the middle frame.
7. Remove the microphone module and microphone cable from the middle frame.
8. Remove the microphone bracket.
9. Install the new microphone module.
10. Reinstall the removed parts in reverse order of the removal steps mentioned above.
11. Reconnect all disconnected cables to the computer and reconnect the power cord to the electrical
outlet.
