PROBLEM
The milk contains large bubbles and
squirts out of the milk spout (D5) or
there is little froth
The cup warmer is hot, even though it
has been disabled
The chocolate is not sufficiently dense The hot chocolate powder does not
The hot chocolate is cold or there are
lumps
During cleaning, there are traces of
black on the stirrer (E4)
There is little or no froth on the cold
coffee
POSSIBLE CAUSE
The milk is not cold enough or is not
semi-skimmed or skimmed.
The froth adjustment dial (D1) is incor-
rectly adjusted.
The milk container lid (D2) or froth ad-
justment dial (D1) is dirty
The hot water/steam connection noz-
zle (A9) is dirty
A number of beverages have been pre-
pared in rapid succession
contain thickener.
The highest density has not been
selected.
Incorrect quantities of milk and hot
chocolate powder.
The wrong stirrer has been inserted
The stirrer (E4) and steam spout (E3)
are not inserted correctly in the funnel
(E2).
The instructions have not been
followed.
The magnets in the stirrer attract trac-
es of iron naturally present in the hot
chocolate powder.
"MIN" froth has been selected
The stirrer is missing or inserted
incorrectly
Too much, or the wrong quantity of ice
has been used
The coffee is unsuitable or has been left
open for too long

REMEDY
Use skimmed or semi-skimmed milk at refrig-
erator temperature (about 5° C). If the result is
not as you wished, try changing brand of milk.
Adjust following the instructions in section
"10.2 Adjusting the amount of froth".
Clean the milk container lid and froth adjust-
ment dial as described in section "18.10 Clean-
ing the milk container".
Clean the connection nozzle as described in
section "18.11 Cleaning the hot water/steam
connection nozzle".
Change the type of hot chocolate powder.
Select maximum density in the correspond-
ing screen. (See section "14. making hot
chocolate")
Respect the instructions in section "14. making
hot chocolate".
Remove the aero stirrer (E7) and insert the
choco stirrer (E4)
Insert the stirrer and steam spout on the
funnel.
Pour the milk/water into the funnel (E2) first,
followed by the hot chocolate powder.
Clean as described in section "18.12 Cleaning
the "Mix Carafe" (E)".
Select "EXTRA" froth (see section "15.1 Making
cold coffee")
Insert the aero stirrer (E7)
Respect the instructions in section "15. making
cold beverages".
Use "fresh", ideally "robusta" coffee
