Testing functionality by secondary injection
Verification of start value and time delay to operate for Step 1
1.
Check that the IED settings are appropriate, i.e. U1< and t1.
2.
Set OpMode1 to Any phase mode. Also, set ConnType to PhNDFT and Characterist1 to
Definite time.
3.
Supply the IED with two-phase voltages at their rated values.
4.
Slowly decrease the voltage in one of the phases, until the ST1 and START signal appears.
5.
Note the operate value and compare it with the set value.
6.
Observe that the TR1 and TRIP signals appear after set time delay of t1 s.
For phase-to-earth measurement:

Increase the measured voltage to rated load conditions.
8.
Check that the START signal resets.
9.
Instantaneously decrease the voltage in one phase to a value about 20% lower than the
measured operate value.
10.
Measure the operate time for the TRIP signal.
11.
Repeat steps from 1 to 4 by setting Characterist1 to Inverse Curve C, k1 to default value and
observe that TR1 and TRIP appear after the inverse time delay.
12.
Repeat the above described steps for Step 2 of the function.
Extended testing
The tests above can be repeated for All phases operation mode.

Completing the test
Continue to test another function or end the test by changing the TESTMODE setting to Off. Restore
connections and settings to the original values, if changed for testing purposes.

Two step overvoltage protection O2RWPTOV
Prepare the IED for verification of settings outlined in Section
Values of the logical signals for O2RWPTOV are available on the local HMI under Main menu /
Tests /Function status /Voltage protection /OverVoltage2Step(59, 2(2U>)) /
O2RWPTOV(59;2(2U>)):x , where x = 1, 2.
The Signal Monitoring in PCM600 shows the same signals that are available on the local HMI.
