PARTS AND CONTROL

SETUP

  • Plug one end of the spiral cord into the handset at (A), and the other end into the socket on the left side of the phone (B).
    SETUP - Step 1 - Plug the spiral cord into handset
  • Plug the telephone cord into the socket on the back of the set and into the wall socket.
    SETUP - Step 2 - Plug in the telephone cord
  • Affix the emergency number label in the appropriate place.

WALL MOUNTING

  • Turn over the wall mounting peg (small grooved plastic part) on the base using a coin.
  • Drill two 6 mm holes 100 mm apart.
  • Fit two wall plugs and screw in wood screws(1) (3.5 mm in diameter and 30 mm long).
  • Mount the base on the 2 screws by pulling it downwards.
  • Take out the foot stand and re-install it in the wall mount location.

GENERAL USE

RINGER LAMP / MESSAGE WAITING LAMP

This light flashes in time with the ringer when you receive a call. It goes out as soon as you take the line.
If you are connected to an ALCATEL PABX with a voicemail service, the message waiting lamp tells you there is a message in your mailbox.

There are two different ways of dialling:

  • by lifting the handset, then dialling.
  • by dialling in on-hook mode.

DIALLING IN ON-HOOK MODE

Press the then dial your correspondent's number. Pick up the handset to talk.

HANDS-FREE MODE

If you are talking to somebody on the handset, and you want to hear and talk to them over the loudspeaker instead:

  • Press and replace the handset.
    • The people around you can join in the conversation.
  • Adjust the volume using the and keys.
  • Lift the handset to return to private conversation mode.

VOLUME CONTROL

  • Press the key.
  • To return to the initial volume, press the key.

MUTE

The Mute key puts your correspondent on hold so that you can talk to someone else without the first person hearing.

  • will be turned on.
  • To resume the conversation, press the again.

CONNECTING AND USING AN ADDITIONAL HEADSET

Connection

  • Plug the RJ9 headset cord into the socket on the base of the telephone.

Headset mode

Once the headset is plugged in:

  • To take an incoming call:
    • Press the key. It will be backlit in amber.
    • At the end of the conversation, press again to end the call.
  • To place a call:
    • Press the key and then dial the number or press one of the direct memories.
  • At any time, you may continue the conversation:
    • In hands-free mode: Press and remove the headset to hear.
    • On the handset: Pick up the handset and remove the headset to hear.

USING THE MEMORIES

Your telephone set can store 50 numbers of up to 24 digits.

Programming Phonebook memories

Add new phonebook record

  • Press .
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press select NEW?
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 2 ~ 9 to enter name ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0 ~ 9 to enter the number ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.

Edit phonebook record

  • Press .
  • Press the 1st character of the name.
  • Press to select the memory.
  • Press key to confirm.
  • Press to select EDIT?
  • Press 2 ~ 9 to enter name ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0 ~ 9 to enter the number ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.

Delete phonebook record

  • Press .
  • Press the 1st character of the name.
  • Press to select the memory.
  • Press key to confirm.
  • Press key to select ERASE? or ERASE ALL?
  • Press to confirm.

**Not supplied with the Temporis 580. Your headset must have an RJ9 connector. Please use headsets that are compliant with EN60950-1 and designed to be used with telephones.

  • Press M1~ M10.
  • Press to select NEW?
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 2 ~ 9 to enter name ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0 ~ 9 to enter the number ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.

Edit one touch memories

  • Press M1 ~ M10.
  • Press the to select EDIT?
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 2 ~ 9 to enter name ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0 ~ 9 to enter the number ( to delete, or to move).
  • Press to confirm.

Delete one touch memories

  • Press M1 ~ M10.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press select ERASE?
  • Press to confirm.

MEMORY DIALLING

Dialing from phonebook memories

  • Press .
  • press the 1st character of the memory.
  • Press to select the memory.
  • Pickup the handset or press or press .

* If you are making off hook dialing, press to dial out.

Dialing from M1 to M10

  • Press M1 ~ M10.
  • Pickup the handset or press or press .

REDIAL

  • Press .
  • Press or to select the last 5 dialed number.
  • Pickup the handset or press or press .

* Press in off hook mode, last dialed number will be dial out.

SETTING

DISPLAY CONTRAST

  • Press .
  • Press to select CONTRAST.
  • Press or to select contrast level.
  • Press to confirm.

LANGUAGE

  • Press .
  • Press to select LANGUE .
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press or to select desired language.
  • Press to confirm.

RING TONE

  • Press .
  • Press to select RING TONE.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Pickup the handset.
  • Press or to select desired ring tone 1~4.
  • Press or to select the volume.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Replace the handset.

DATE/TIME

  • Press .
  • Press to select DATE/TIME.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input date in DD/MM.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input time.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select HOUR FORMAT.
  • Press or to select the 12H or 24H.
  • Press to confirm.

CALL SETTING

AREA CODE

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select AREA CODE.
  • Press 0~9 to input ( 1 to 3 digits, C to delete ).
  • Press to confirm.

PREFIX CODE

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select PREFIX NUM
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input ( 1 to 3 digits, C to delete ).
  • Press to confirm.

VOICEMAIL

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select VOICEMAIL
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input the number.
  • Press to confirm.
  • To listen to the voicemail, long press in standby mode and then pick up the phone.

DIAL MODE

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select DIAL MODE.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press or to select TONE/PULSE.
  • Press to confirm.

FLASH TIME

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confim.
  • Press to select FLASH TIME
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input the time (70ms to 650ms).
  • Press to confirm.

PAUSE TIME

  • Press .
  • Press to select CALL SETTING.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press to select PAUSE TIME.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press or to select between 1.5s or 4s.
  • Press to confirm.

LOCKING THE TELEPHONE

Using a 4-digit password, you can block calls to phone numbers with more than 6 digits.

The initial password is 0000.

LOCK

  • Press .
  • Press key to select LOCK?
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press 0~9 to input the 4-digit code.
  • Press to confirm. displayed.

UNLOCK

  • Press .
  • Press to select UNLOCK?
  • Press 0~9 to input the 4-digit code.
  • Press to confirm.

MODIFYING THE PASSWORD

  • Press .
  • Press to select CHANGE PIN CODE?
  • Press to confirm.
  • Input 4-digit current password.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Input 4-digit new password.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Input 4-digit new password again.
  • Press to confirm.

Using the Caller ID service

Your network operator provides a number of subscription-only services.
Your TEMPORIS 580 is compatible with the "Caller ID" service in off-hook mode.
This service tells you the name or number of the caller before you take the call.

View the call list

  • Press .
  • Press to toggle the name & number.
  • Press to review the other calls.
  • While looking up a number, picking up the handset or pressing or pressing will dail out the number.

Store a record from the call list

  • Press .
  • Press to select the number.
  • Press select STORE?
  • Press to confirm (You can edit the name before confirmation).
  • Press to confirm (You can edit the number before confirmation).

Delete record from the call list

  • Press .
  • Press to select the number.
  • Press to confirm.
  • Press select ERASE? or ERASE ALL?
  • Press to confirm.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE / TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

  • Caution: never let your telephone set come into contact with water. You may, however use a damp cloth to clean your telephone.
  • For cleaning your set, use only a damp cloth; do not use solvents (alcohol, trichloroethylene, acetone...) and sprays which may damage your set.
  • During storms, you are advised not to use the telephone.
  • The Temporis 580 telephones are designed for making and receiving telephone calls and for connection to a private or public service telephone network.
  • Appliances designed for connection to a TNV3-class analogue telephone line as defined in European safety standard EN60950-1.
