    Intended Use and Reuse The patient hoists of the SLK Carry Product Family are active medical devices of class 1 according to the Medical Devices Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). The purpose of these hoists is providing support to the nurse when changing positions, lifting, transferring and during transports of patients with restricted mobility inside of their residence.

    Use in the Wet Area The SLK Carry Patient Hoists are suitable for use in wet areas, e.g. the toilet and the bathroom. The hoists are not suitable for use in the shower. Used Materials The structure is made of steel with a high-quality powder coating for corrosion protection.

    Patient Transport Lifting a Patient in Seated Position • Lock the brakes of the wheelchair; keep the brakes of the expanded patient hoist released. • Put the hoist sling (e.g. SLK Universal Hoist Sling) deeply between the back- rest and the patient.     Cleaning Use a damp cloth to clean your SLK Carry with a mild cleaning agent such as a household cleaner. The charger must be unplugged from the socket for cleaning and disinfection! For wiping disinfection, use approved cleaning agents for medical de- vices.

    Useful Life The useful life of the SLK Carry Universal Hoist is 11,000 lifting cycles in accordance with the standard. The maximum lifespan is 8 years. Calculation example: If a SLK Carry is used for a patient, who requires four lifting cycles per day, each day of the year for care, then the 11,000 lifting cycles will be used up after around seven and a half years.
