    Contraindication The application of active hoists lets forces work on the body of the patients, which cannot be tolerated by them in all clinical states (e.g. spinal damages, advanced osteoporosis, unhealed bone fractures). Before every application of the SLK Eazy-up, please contemplate the patient and their clinical state very closely.

    Safety Information • The SLK Eazy-up hoists may be used exclusively for the purposes stated as the intended use.They are not approved for lifting objects and they are no toys. If this is disregarded, the hoist can be damaged and accidents may happen. Never leave children unattended near the hoist.
  • Page 9 Safety Information • Move the SLK Eazy-up slowly and evenly, at most at walking speed, and avoid sudden changes of direction. The hoist may overturn if you move it too fast. • Do not touch parts of the actuator while maneuvering the hoist. Improper loads can damage the actuator.

    Assembly Installation of the Mast • Push the mast with its lower end onto the mast shoe of the base. The star-knob screws are pointed toward the footboard in the process. (Fig. 3) • The pins of the mast shoe are to interlock with the notches at the lower end of the Notches and pins mast.

    Assembly Installation of the Shin Support • Loosen the star-knob screw and push the square tube of the shin supports into the recess. (Fig. 7) • Fasten them with the star-knob screw. The height of the shin support depends on the length of the patient’s legs.

    To extract the battery pack, proceed as follows: • Put your hand into the recessed grip and press the unlocking button up. (Fig. 15) • Pull the battery pack towards you. Emergency-Stop Button Using the emergency-stop button, the lifting or lowering movements of the SLK Eazy-up Hoist can be stopped instantly if there is danger.

    Eazy-up flex Base Expansion To improve stability and simplify access to Expand base wheelchairs and other seats, the SLK Eazy-up flex Active Hoists are equipped with a manually expandable base. • Step on the left side of the pedal in driving direction to expand the base.

    Daily Use Checklist A visual inspection should be done before each use. To do so, work off the points on the checklist one by one. If you practice this procedure routinely, your attention to discrepancies from the normal state will be sharpened. You can assure yourself of the safe condition of the SLK Active Hoist before each use in a minimum of time.

    Put the brakes of the wheelchair/toilet chair on; keep the brakes of the expanded SLK Eazy-up released. SLK Eazy-up fix without Base Expansion Put the SLK Eazy-up lifting arm into the lowest position and move the hoist as close as possible to the patient. If the patient is in a wheelchair, the footrests may have to be turned to the side or be removed.

    • Adjust the shin support so that the patient’s knees and upper shin are pro- tected. (Fig. 37) • Hook the loops of the active sling between the ends ofthe handle bar on the lifting arm. The loops with identical color should be hooked in on both sides.

    Transport If the SLK Eazy-up is to be transported, press the emergency-stop button (page17). If the hoist cannot be transported in one piece to the place of use, you can disassemble it into individual low-weight assembly groups . They can then be carried relatively easily.
