3. Locate one of the two drains that you would
like to use, Figure 13.2d. Either the Quick
Drain (A) or the 3/4" drain valve (B). Once
you choose a draining method, follow the
procedures for that method.
4. Refer to "Hot Tub Fill Up Procedure"
(page 16) for recommended filling instructions.
Note: Exposure of the cabinet to heat could cause the cabinet to warp. Should
the cabinet warp, once it is installed, the warping is not visible. However, it
does make the removal and replacement a little more challenging.
A. Draining procedures for the Quick Drain:
1. Turn off power to hot tub at breaker.
2. Locate the Quick Drain Valve, Figure 13.2e.
3. Unscrew drain valve cap, Figure 13.2f. Place the cap
aside.
4. Screw in the adapter with hose that was included in
the equipment bay. Attach it to the quick drain, Figure
13.2g. Make sure to direct the hose to an area where
the water will drain properly.
5. Open the drain slice valve by sliding the handle to the
side and pulling up.
Note: If the QuickDrain is slow, remove the circulation
pump filter to ease the flow.
6. After the hot tub has drained, close the slice valve by
pushing it downward and sliding the handle to the side.
Remove the adapter and reinstall the Quick drain cap
before refilling hot tub.
B. To drain your spa, perform the following steps
(standard drain):
1. Turn off power to spa at breaker.
2. Locate the drain valve located on the front left
corner on the black plastic pan. Hold the larger
(rear) drain valve body to prevent it from turning,
then loosen and remove the front cap to expose
the underlying male hose threads, Figure 13.2h.
3. Attach a garden hose to the exposed threads, Figure
13.2i.
4. Gently rotate the larger (rear) valve body 1/3 turn
counterclockwise to unlock the drain valve, Figure 13.2j.
5. Pull the larger (rear) body outward as shown
to open drain, Figure 13.2k.
6. After the spa drains, perform steps 2-5 in reverse
order to close the drain prior to refilling spa.
After refilling, turn on power to the spa and follow the steps
listed under "Spa Fill Up Procedures" (page 16). Always fill
your spa through both filter buckets.
