Leviton 279-PM Installation

NOTE: This device may be used with copper, copper-clad, or aluminum wire.
NOTE: For use with #8 AWG thru #4 AWG wire.
TO INSTALL:
WARNING:
1. TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
OR FUSE AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
2. Remove insulation from wire per strip gage as shown on back of device,
approximately 1/2 inch (1.3 cm).
3. Determine appropriate terminal for each wire per wiring diagram.
4. Insert wires into proper terminals (refer to wiring diagram). Tighten terminal screws to 25 in.-lbs.
of torque.
CAUTION:
Terminal screws must tighten onto conductor only, not insulation.
5. Fold the wires into the box, keeping the grounding wire away from the WHITE and HOT terminals.
6. Mount device using long mounting screws. Attach wallplate (sold separately).
7. Restore power to circuit breaker or fuse. Installation is complete.
